Gainesboro Modern Museum of Contemporary Art opened to the public on June 7, 2025, on the historic square in Gainesboro, Tennessee. Founded by artists Cat and Wade Schmitz, the museum is a 501(c)(3) public charitable institution established to present contemporary art as an active part of everyday shared public life.

Gainesboro Modern offers free admission and presents rotating exhibitions of contemporary art by national and international artists across two gallery spaces. The museum was created as a permanent public institution, designed to serve the local community while welcoming visitors from across the region and beyond.
