Founders Exhibition Opens at Gainesboro Modern Museum of Contemporary Art

Exhibition Extended Through January 18, 2026

Gainesboro, Tennessee - October 2025

Gainesboro Modern Museum of Contemporary Art opened Founders, a special exhibition on view beginning October 3, 2025, featuring work by the museum’s co-founders, artists Cat and Wade Schmitz. The exhibition was originally scheduled to run through December 21, 2025, and has been extended through January 18, 2026.

Presented within the context of the museum’s ongoing exhibition program, Founders offers visitors an opportunity to engage with the artistic practices that informed the creation of Gainesboro Modern as a public institution. The exhibition reflects the founders’ shared commitment to contemporary art as part of everyday shared public life and situates their work within the broader curatorial framework of the museum.

The extension of Founders reflects continued public interest and supports the museum’s goal of offering sustained access to its exhibitions. As with all programming at Gainesboro Modern, admission to Founders is free and open to the public.
